Spring 2014 Trend: Pastels & Light Pink

The fashion labels including Chanel and Louis Vuitton have gone crazy over the latest pastels and fondant colours. Of course all the celebrities have been quick to snatch up pastel dresses and wear them to the latest red carpet events. These include Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Alexa Chung. All the childhood colours like ice mint, light pink, powder blue, lavender, citrus lemon and soft peach have come back into fashion.

Light Pink

Light pink is without doubt one of the most popular pastel colours this spring 2014. We've seen it so many times over the years, but this year we are seeing feminine and romantic pieces with chic options. It's very fashionable to wear it head-to-toe or mix it with other pastels colours. What is different this year, is that we are also seeing pink being worn with an edgy twist. So take this feminine pink colour and contrast it with something edgy. For example wear a soft pink jumper with a leather jacket or leather trousers and heeled ankle boots. Light pink is also a great colour to accessorise with and you can toughen up the look with metallic. The best thing about this pastel pink trend, is that it is one of the easiest to wear. You can just pick out a key item like a dress, skirt, blazer, cardigan or trousers and with the right accessories you can make the perfect look. It's all about balance and making sure you choose what works best for you.
