Do you hear that? It’s the sound of Spring swooshing our way. The sun colouring our cheeks and our wardrobes going back to brighter, happier days. Kick-off this season right by shopping right and discover the spring summer 2020 trends that will bring new life to your wardrobe. We’ve scrolled through hundreds of images from Milan, Paris, Copenhagen and London (not a terrible way to pass time) and found all the most wearable, I-want-this-now trends so you can just go ahead and shop.
Spring Summer 2020 Trends
1. Sleeves that are blown out of proportion
Drama queens (aren't we all) I've got good news for you: sleeves are big this year, bigger than big. Bring on the drama with these grand proportions, puffy sleeves aren't just cute features of floral dresses but avant-garde staples. We've seen knitwear with bold sleeves that turn the cosy staple into a power move, blouses with puffy sleeves that will make you feel elegant and ultra-cool and blazers that are blown out of proportion with statement shoulders. In this case, go big or go home is actually a good idea.
2. Be the man
You've probably worn your fair share of menswear-inspired pieces like blazers or a pair of well-tailored pair of trousers but if you're ready, Spring Summer 2020 trends are telling you to take it a step further. Rather than sporting a menswear-inspired shirt, get one that is from the actual men's collection and while you're at it - get one that is M or L instead of a small. You might be tempted to wear it with tight fitted jeans, nope, you're going all out! Wide on wide, big on big - see how far you can go and still feel comfortable and yourself. To make sure you don't look like you just came out of your grandfathers closet, style your menswear pieces for more retro, elegant accessories and shoes like pointy heels and sophisticated earrings.

3. Going bright, brighter, brightest
Take your mood into your own hands by dressing like one walking rainbow. Ok, it doesn't have to be that extreme, stick to a chic colour palette or to just one colour with a monochrome look like the Scandi women at Copenhagen Fashion Week are doing. Another less extreme way, but still highly effective for your mood and your brand new outfit is to bring fun pops of colour to your look with bold, bright accessories. Mix and match and try some new things out with colours that you feel suit you and your style.

4. A new player in the layer game: shackets
Behold, the layer you've been waiting for. Shackets are quickly taking over as the perfect in-between layer for pretty much any weather besides 30 degrees. Wear it as a coat or jacket in spring and keep wearing it when winter comes back as a layer under your coat or even on top of your denim jacket. The layering options are truly endless. If you're still thinking, what on earth is a shacket? You can see it as a mix between a shirt and a jacket, often made from wool with a lumberjack vibe. If you'd like to know more then check out the blog I wrote on how to wear shackets!

5. Down to earth
Fashion works in mysterious ways, on the other side of the colour spectrum from the bright colours I mentioned before, we've got a Spring Summer 2020 trend of earthy and beige colours being worn head to toe. It's no secret that full-on, every detail fits, beige outfits are undeniably chic but darkening the tones just a little to warm browns and chic military greens works just as well. As we've seen with the beige outfits it's all about really going for it with every aspect of your outfit, wearing just one beige jumper won't cut it for this trend!

6. Trenchcoats 2 sizes too big
It's true, the classic appeal of trenchcoats makes sure that this jacket never really gets kicked out of the trend rotation. But for Spring Summer 2020 trends, the trenchcoat gets a little less pristine and way more laidback in oversized silhouettes and a baggier feel. The point is for it to look like you bought it 2 sizes too big, wrap the belt around your waist or let it hang casually over your outfit and enjoy wearing it with literally anything.
